SomersetShepton Beauchamp
Shepton Beauchamp is a village and parish, situated roughly halfway (or around 4 miles) between Ilminster and South Petherton in South Somerset, in the west of England. The first part of the name of the village is believed to have Saxon origins meaning sheep settlement. The second part was added comparitively recently to honour the Beauchamp family (pronounced ‘Beecham’), who once owned the manor and much of the land around Shepton Beauchamp. The village is part of the Yeovil county constituency represented in the House of Commons.
