SomersetSouth Petherton
South Petherton is is a village on the River Parrett in South Somerset, in the west of England. It is 5 miles east of Ilminster and 5 miles north west of Crewkerne. It currently has a population of approximately 3,300. South Petherton parish includes the hamlets of Yeabridge, Compton Durville, South Harp, and Over Stratton, and is approximately 2 miles from East Lambrook, Martock and Lopen. Within a short distance of South Petherton are a number of historical buildings and sites. The many places worth a visit around this part of Somerset include: are Montacute House, Barrington Court, Muchelney Abbey, East Lambrook Manor, Cadbury Castle, Forde Abbey, Ham Hill, Haynes Motor Museum, the RNAS Museum at Yeovilton, the Willows and Wetlands Visitor Centre, Muchelney Pottery and attractive villages like Shepton Beauchamp and towns like Ilminster.
